Janaki Patel

Janaki’s life’s work is to bring people closer to Mother Earth, and she uses a thoughtful approach as a guide and educator for the past 15 years. She has created and facilitated educational experiences for youth and adults in National Parks as well as organic farms and school gardens, with an intention to support greater health, justice, and consciousness in communities and individuals of different backgrounds.

From her experience in wilderness backpacking and teaching, she strives to create a supportive and welcoming environment where people can expand their perspectives, develop more self-awareness and realize ways of being that promote a greater sense of joy, interconnection and belonging.

Janaki’s daily spiritual practices of meditation, yoga and Ayurvedic cooking, from her own and other cultural traditions, are a continual process which supports her whole being and she enjoys sharing those teachings with other curious people. A lifelong learner of the land, she can also be found joyfully exploring the sacred elements via traditional clay arts, weaving, herbalism and compassionate dairying. She is currently an educator for Naturebridge in Yosemite.
