Ayurveda is a sister science to yoga and translates to “the knowledge of life”. This science provides an opportunity to learn about ourselves and the world through the perspective of the Five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether.

On this 3-day retreat, enjoy delicious food, hiking, yoga practice, and encouraging company, as we explore what it means to lead a life of balance. Experience a rejuvenating journey into Yosemite National Park and the ancient healing art of Ayurveda. Tuition assistance is available.

Highlights:

  • Two optional yoga classes each day
  • Morning meditation instruction and practice
  • Learn about Ayurvedic health practices and discover your dosha
  • Hiking and gentle peak climbs in and near Tuolumne Meadows
  • Fresh meals include local and organic ingredients

Tentative Itinerary

Friday
We will gather at Tuolumne Meadows campground in the high country of Yosemite National Park at 3:00 pm for introductions, intention setting and an orientation to the course. In the afternoon we will step into our yoga practice and get acquainted with each other and the wild beauty of Yosemite. There will be an introduction to Ayurveda followed by cooking demonstration, dinner and campfire.

Saturday
We will greet the day with morning meditation and yoga practice. After a nourishing breakfast, we will pack our daypacks and head out into Tuolumne Meadows. Here, among the granite domes and wildflowers, we will explore our yoga practice on and off the yoga mat and enjoy a nice day-hike. In addition to our hiking and yoga practice, there is also time for dips into the cool waters of the Tuolumne River, conversations with other participants, and enjoying the views of the High Sierra. We will have informative Ayurveda sessions in the afternoon and evening, a delicious dinner and a campfire.

Sunday
After our morning yoga session and breakfast, we will pack up camp and enjoy final closing activities and a short walk. We must vacate the campsite by 11am and we will conclude our formal programming by 2pm.

Note on Itinerary: This schedule is an outline. It is subject to change depending on the needs of the group and allowing for spontaneous inspiration.
